The natural beauty of the area is protected by the work of the National Park Authority in co-operation with farmers and landowners, and the new development carefully controlled to protect the very special character of Dales towns and villages. Quiet enjoyment of the countryside of the national park is encouraged by the Park Authority and National Park centers provide interpretive displays about the area and a full range of local literature and material about the park.
